I was 14 when I discovered my hormonal imbalance. At that time I knew nothing and there were not many resources available. Due to a lack of knowledge and vague awareness I suffered from major symptoms throughout my adolescence. Over the years, with my personal experience, I learned a lot about women's health and my cured polycystic ovarian syndrome naturally.
Some common symptoms of hormonal imbalance are as follows,
Hormonal imbalance is more of a nutritional imbalance and my main priority is to fill my body with nourishing foods. I start off my day with one glass of lukewarm water; liquids have always been my priority to flush out toxins from my body.
Limit the intake of processed foods, avoid high GI (Glycemic Index), sugar products from the diet and most importantly feed yourself with loads of love, affection and with stress management activities.
Fats are not your enemy your body needs fuel to burn and in fact, healthy fats would help in losing more weight. Be generous with your portions, fill your plate with lots of veggies and protein, it is all about whole foods. These foods are free from artificial sugars, hormones, and preservatives which are as close to their natural, unprocessed state as possible. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes (kidney beans, chickpeas) are whole foods that you can add to your diet.
Aim for anti-inflammatory options,
In PCOS our bodies get deficient in vitamin B12, vitamin D, Omega3, Iron, Zinc, and Magnesium, Have foods that are highly rich in these sources. Tomatoes, Carrots, walnuts, flaxseeds, mushrooms. These are some excellent sources to eliminate male hormones.
Losing weight will cure your syndrome, is one of the very common things you probably hear from the doctors, which is absolutely untrue, PCOS is a hormonal imbalance and weight gain is a symptom of it, healing your body and maintaining a wholesome diet will cure your symptoms which also include weight loss. Certain workouts could actually make things worse, for instance, HIIT and intense cardio elevate cortisol levels in the body, the stress hormone which releases from the adrenal glands which lead to anxiety, fatigue and excess belly fat. Instead, try low-impact workouts like yoga, weighted-strength training and walking which maintains stress hormones, helps your cells respond to insulin and can improve blood sugar levels. Strength training also increases lean muscle mass, and the more muscle mass you have, the more calories your body burns at rest.
Caffeine is one of the biggest reasons for adrenal fatigue, menstrual dysfunction, rise in DHT levels, and cystic acne. My doctor prescribed me 6 months course of contraceptive pills for controlling the symptoms and to be honest, it worked immaculately, until I stopped my medication. This time it made my condition even worse. So, I discontinued everything and searched for natural ways to heal it.
Herbs and supplements can regulate blood sugar, fight inflammation and support healthy hormones. Spearmint tea, acts like magic, it is a natural DHT blocker, it clams your stress, anxiety and aids with cystic acne. Ovasitol, Ashwagandha are natural supplements for women's health, it increases insulin sensitivity, decrease hyper-androgens and regulate the menstrual cycle.
Women with imbalances struggle with insomnia and disturbed sleeping schedules. It is extremely important to give your body enough rest, in order to maintain that avoid stimulants and rich, fatty foods before bedtime, aim for 8 hrs of sleep per night by establishing a regular bedtime routine.
Maintaining peace with and prioritizing my mental well-being comes first, stress and sadness are not only good for your inner health but also for your physical health. Meditation, yoga cutting caffeine helps in stress management and anxiety.
Healing PCOS can be a possible solution for many women and consistency is the key to curing it completely.
